A man took a forest and turned it into a city… I mean, kilometers of snake, mosquito, and witch-infested forest. This man saw a city in it, and brought that vision to life.

For a moment, strip away your religious, political, and activist biases.

Forget your personal likes or dislikes for Papa Adeboye.

Just sit with that fact.

Years ago, this place we now call RCCG Camp was nothing but thick bush.

People avoided it, not because they lacked faith, but because that axis was unthinkable for human settlement. You wouldn’t have dared to spend a night there, not even for free.

Even the government wouldn’t invest a single kobo in that land.

Yet Pastor Enoch Adeboye saw what most could never see.

Where others saw bush, he saw roads.

Where others saw swamp, he saw homes.

Where others saw emptiness, he saw a thriving city.

And over the decades, he worked, quietly, consistently, faithfully.

Today, that “forest” is a fully functioning community… and all some people can do is insult the man at every given instance.

Forget for a moment that Papa Adeboye is a pastor. Just look at the scale of his impact.

If someone in your lineage or generation had achieved even half of this, would you be on social media ranting nonsense?

Isn’t this what legacy truly looks like?
Not just in sermons preached, but in lives changed, in infrastructure built, in communities sustained.

And let’s even address the factory argument.

Tell me, how many factories could Papa Adeboye have built that would house over 50,000 families and provide an abode for more than 200,000 people to live, work, and thrive every day?

Before 1983, the RCCG Camp was untamed forest: snakes, thick undergrowth, zero infrastructure. No roads. No light. No water. Just bush.

Fast forward four decades, and it now boasts:

Over 50,000 families permanently living there.

250,000+ residents year-round, larger than the population of some Nigerian LGAs.

24-hour uninterrupted electricity, a luxury even many state capitals can’t boast of.

Well-maintained internal road networks.

Hospitals where you can get quality treatment without political connections.

Schools from nursery to university, producing graduates every year.

Thriving commerce creating jobs and empowering entrepreneurs.

Recreation facilities, clean streets, and order rare in this country.

Security so effective residents feel safe walking at night.

What other project, religious or government or otherwise, has delivered this level of transformation for over 50,000 families at once?

Even a massive factory couldn’t match this breadth of impact.

Do you realize what it takes to get hundreds of thousands of people to relocate to an area once considered uninhabitable?

Ask any serious real estate developer, it’s almost impossible to get even 50 families to commit to a new estate. Yet, without government funding or political power, one man mobilized people to build a living, thriving city from scratch.

This isn’t just ministry work, it’s urban planning, infrastructure development, and economic transformation happening in real time.

Whether or not you agree with his theology… whether or not you like his style… the facts speak for themselves: he has done what most local governments have failed to do.

If Nigeria had just 10 more people with this scale of vision and execution, we’d already be a first-world country.

The forest is now a city.

The dream is now reality.

Papa Enoch Adeboye is not just a pastor, he is a nation-builder, a city-builder, and a generation icon. His story is one our children should study in schools when we talk about transformation.

He is living proof that with faith and hard work, a mosquito-ridden forest can become a city of light.

Whether you share his beliefs or not, one thing is clear, he deserves his flags while he’s still here to see them fly.

And history will remember the man who saw it before anyone else did.

Daniel Adeniyi.
