I’m based in Sydney, and with October’s warmer days, I’ve been seriously considering a bathroom update. The current space is dated, with beige tiles and almost no airflow, making it stuffy. A custom bathroom renovation would let me design something more modern, but I don’t want it to feel outdated in a few years. For those who’ve recently renovated in Sydney, which design trends—like neutral colours, storage solutions, or ventilation upgrades—have held up well over time in our climate?

I renovated my bathroom in Sydney recently and had the same concern about picking trends that last. I stuck with neutral tiles and a floating vanity, then used fittings and plants to add character that I can swap out later. Ventilation was the best upgrade – a skylight and decent exhaust keep it fresh even in humid weather. If you’re after ideas, I found sydneyeastbuilding.com.au handy when I was planning mine.
